My name is Hunter Nichols. I’m a director, cinematographer, and photographer. I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. I’ve always had a passion for the outdoors and conservation photography. This led me to study photography and art at the University of Montevallo and that quickly progressed into a love of filmmaking. I transferred to Auburn University and received a B.A. there in Radio, TV, and Film. I started freelancing in 2006 and soon founded Hunter Nichols Productions. I’m now a seasoned professional with over fourteen years of experience in video, photography, and website design. My work has won numerous awards including an Emmy in 2019. I have more than seven years of experience with drones and aerial photography and hold an FAA commercial drone pilot license. Over the years, I’ve developed a great relationship with many clients, small and large, including The Nature Conservancy, HBO, Coca-Cola, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Apple, Time Inc, National Geographic, Advance Local, and many more.
